Camp

This week Griffin started Camp Ganim at the JCC. It runs M-F from 9-12 for 4 weeks. I signed him up because they take him swimming everyday and I knew it would be hard for me to hit the pool after the baby. He likes it a lot so far. Today they had Shabad and ate Challah bread. He made sure to tell me he was at the "Plain Challah Bread Table" and did not eat any with butter on it. He has been singing some kind of Shabad song all day. He also loves to talk about how his teachers say, "Chop Chop No Monkey Business", to him all the time. I wonder why?

Lastly a pic of Gray on the potty...his latest obsession.

TMI

Just a warning...this is probably only exciting to us. But Gray pooped in the potty yesterday for the first time. He has been really bothered by his diaper being "yucky" and has really been wanting to sit. I didn't have a step stool near him so I think he was kind of stuck up on the seat and just went. Not sure this is the best time to start potty training but we will see what happens over the next few weeks.

Fathers Day

This year we had a pretty low key Father's Day. I think part of it was just moving a few weeks ago and just having so much on our plate before baby #3 comes along. We had a nice breakfast out on the screened in porch. The boys gave Brent his cards. Here is Gray wearing his My Daddy Rocks pjs.
Here is Gray before church that morning. There are more pictures of him than Griffin because one child is more cooperative for the camera. Not saying who.

A few quick pics of Daddy and the boys in our backyard.

Outside the church steps after the service. The boys had fun playing with some smooth stones that were given out at the end of the service.
This is what happens when you try to get them to say, "cheese". Not so pretty.

Potty time?

Gray is finally showing some interest in the potty. I was not even going to worry about it until maybe this Fall at the earliest. So far he has been pooping in his diaper and then wants to put it in the big potty and flush the poop away. This is a fairly time-consuming process but I figure at least it is a start. Today before his nap, he wanted to sit on the potty and read a book. He peed for the first time and was so surprised. Of course half of it ended up on the floor, but we were still excited for him:)

Why Our Backyard Requires More Supervision

Our new backyard definitely requires more supervision for when the boys want to play. We have a beautiful waterfall and little pond right off of the deck. Here are a few shots of it...pay attention because it will probably be drained pretty soon. The pond has lilypads, dragon flies, little lizards, and bullfrogs. Very cute and the boys love it. Usually they throw any toy they can find in it (this includes shoes too) and take long sticks to fish the items back out. They can't stay out of it even for a second.
Our second danger spot is the 1970s style playset with a fort. The fort has a ladder up to the top but very little to keep the kids inside the fort once you are up there. I am pretty sure it is a death trap for any 2 year old. But the boys love it too. Hopefully we can get a more modern set soon:)

Summer Bowling

A real quick random pic of Gray in his racing helmet and Lightning McQueen tshirt. He loves running around the house in this helmet now. Today was the first time our playgroup took advantage of the AMF free summer bowling for kids. You only have to pay for the shoe rental so it is a pretty great deal. We met up today and the boys had a great time. As a sidenote Griffin hurt his knee at gymnastics (not sure if he sprained it or what), but he was limping a lot and refused to smile for any pictures. He seems just fine now. Here is a shot of Jacob and Griffin waiting to bowl. Teresa is holding Dillon and he bowled too.
I had a hard time keeping Gray away from the balls when it wasn't his turn.

Gray was quite the rock star when it came to bowling. He insisted on picking up the heaviest balls and did not want to use the ramps. Griffin on the other hand insisted on the lightest balls and had to use the ramp at all times.
A quick video of the boys bowling and Gray's victory dance.

My boys LOVE babysitters (which is a good thing I know). We had a new sitter yesterday named, Pamela, and they had such a great time. When I came home, Griffin's response was, "Why did you come home so early?". I had been gone about 4 hours, but I guess it wasn't enough. Hey, she did play trains with him for the entire time:)

Then earlier Griffin said, "Hey Mom, you need to stop spending all of Dad's money". I explained to him that we needed to buy some stuff for the house and then we would start saving money again. And I told him that it was technically "our money" because I was working at home with the kids. Griffin followed that up with, "Oh Mom, that's okay, you can go back to work now. I can have a babysitter and just see you on Saturday and Sunday". Glad to see that I am appreciated at home:)

Coming along

Things are still coming along. My parents were here this week so that helped us get a lot accomplished. We got the kitchen pretty much organized and a ton of boxes emptied. My dad and Brent put together a dresser for Gray's room. Last night was Gray's first night sleeping in his big kid room. He did great sleeping in our closet so it was hard moving him:)

We are learning to be careful in a yard full of trees. Last night Griffin had a tick on his back- just a tiny one. Luckily my friend had just told me how she got one off of her son so I knew how. It went much better than the splinter! Two exciting events with the same boy in one week:)
