Little Bo Peep

This is a cute outfit that a friend gave Ashby. She wore it to church today. With the bonnet on, she reminds me a little of Little Bo Peep.

Upwards camp

This weekend Griffin participated in an Upwards basketball camp at church. We wanted to have him give the camp a try before we signed him up for a whole season. He gave a mixed verdict. He loves passing, dribbling, and doing the drills. Not too into the games but the emphasis is not too much on competition. The regular season is in January so I guess we will see how he feels about it then. Griffin with his coach.

Headband

Today at Mom's Group we made some ribbon headbands. Griffin found them and decided that Ashby had to wear hers immediately. The verdict? Not really enough hair to need one , but she looks pretty darn cute anyway:)

Last week

Last week Grandma and Grandpa came in town and spent some time with us. They did A LOT of work helping us with projects around the house, but we had a fun time too. Here are some pictures of the yard during and after Brent and his dad cleared out some trees with chain saws. We had a lot of brush afterwards.
An after pic of the backyard- they cleared out a ton of foliage by the pond.

Grandpa spending time with the boys.

Ashby giving her "pirate look" on Grandpa's shoulder.

Gray and Grandma by the swings.

First smiles

Here are some pictures of Ashby's first smiles. Griffin is doing her hair and I think she likes it.

Griffin's Spider Party

Yesterday we had Griffin's birthday party at our house. He had a Spiderman Science party with 14 of his closest friends- it went really well. Here is our 5-year-old on the front steps before the party began. My friend and scientist, Ms Robin, was in charge of the party and did a great job keeping all the kids under control. They made silly putty, ice cream, looked at different bug specimens, and other fun stuff.
Here is Griffin in his bug glasses.
Checking out a bug with his magnifying glass.
Yeah, she brought a tarantula. One was the actual spider and the other was an old skin that he had shed already.
The kids got to take turns touching Ike, the ferret.
Gray and Lila enjoyed keeping an eye on Ike while he was in his crate. Hmmm, wonder how he got out and was running around our living room?
Outside on the screened in porch having lunch with his friends.
Good times with Kaleigh and Jacob!
Griffin's Spider Man cake.
Video of his cake and blowing out the candles. He had a great time! We are glad we don't have to do another birthday party anytime soon:)
