Kid Pics

Just some random pics of the kids. Griffin loves holding Ashby on his lap while he watches tv. She likes it too but doesn't like having her head tweaked when she isn't "watching" the tv closely enough. Ashby and her crooked smile.

Gray REALLY loves his little sister and insists on checking on her whenever she cries. He is almost always trying to climb into her car seat.
Griffin after a pirate birthday party he went to today. He had such a good time. Tonight he is sleeping in his eye patch.

Goldfish

Last week we had someone come to the house and teach us about our pond. It was pretty interesting and the guy said we could try putting goldfish in the pond. We went to a local store and bought some fish. The one that was really cool (it came up to the top of the tank to be pet when the guy put his hand in) was $40. We decided on some $4 fish instead. We don't even have to feed them really. We will see how long they live. Here they are... The boys with the fish.
Cutting the bag to release them into the wild. It was pretty anticlimactic- they didn't want out that badly. So far they are all still alive. But when you walk by the pond, they dart away and hide under the lilypads. They may be pretty smart afterall.

Our little gymnast

Gray started his first gymnastics class today. He was by far the youngest one but he did pretty well. Sitting on the balls with Isaac and Isaiah.
He could grab and swing on the rings by himself. Strong boy.

Hanging on the bars.

Griffin's First Day of Preschool

This year Griffin will be going to preschool 5 mornings a week. He is in Mrs Cook's class. She is the teacher that gets the kids who were redshirted for kindergarten. Last year she had a classroom of only 16 boys-oh my! But this year is a good mix. Griffin has about 6 kids from his class last year in his room this year, so he was excited to see some familiar faces. Here he is before we left for school in the morning. Here is a picture of Griffin with Mrs Cook. I think he will really like her. She has a lot of cool stuff in her classroom and she does Show and Tell. He has been dying to do Show and Tell for a few years now.

Dynamic Duo in Yellow

Here are some pictures of the boys last weekend. They went fishing in the pond while standing on our back deck. The lilypads were a little troublesome but they figured it out.We finally got Gray to eat some ice cream. He seemed to like it. Here he is with his ice cream goatee.

Yorktown Beach

Today we hit the road and went to Yorktown Beach. It was about an hour and a half away and we had a beautiful day. Griffin was most excited about bringing the cool Spiderman fishing pole he got for his birthday.
The beach area was really small with a shallow roped-off area. There were a ton of boats to watch sailing around.

Gray playing around with Daddy.
We got to build sand castles for a bit.
A quick shot of Ashby during a happy moment. There were very few of these.
We ran into some friends, Trent and Elisa, and their kids, Ashe, Connor, and Dorothy.
Griffin spent about 3 hours fishing today. He just stood in the water and kept casting over and over. It drew in a lot of kids.
Another shot of Ashby. I think she looks a lot like Brent in this one. Mini-Brent in a girly sunsuit.

Butterflies Live

This morning we went to the Botanical Gardens and saw the Butterflies Live exhibit. Here is a pic of the kids. Hmmm, I wonder which "cooperative" kids are mine? It is impossible for them to look at the camera at the same time. Griffin looking for all the types of butterflies.

Annabelle and Sophie.
Gray enjoyed keeping an eye on Ashby.
This blue butterfly was one of the prettiest ones there. But also hard to get a good picture of. When it's wings were closed, they looked like a brown and blue paisley pattern.
